Common questions

How do I connect the app to my own server?

The MIRA app is a client for a MIRA server you run yourself — think of it like an email app talking to your own mail server. In the app, add your server by its address and sign in, or pair instantly by scanning the QR code from your server’s My Preferences → Notifications & devices screen. You’ll need a running MIRA server; see the install guide and the pairing guide.

Do I need my own server to try it?

To use the app for real, yes — MIRA runs on your hardware, which is the whole point. But if you just want to see what MIRA is like first, try the live demo in your browser — no server and no signup required.

Is my data private?

Yes. MIRA is self-hosted: your conversations, memory, and files live on your server, not ours. We don’t operate any server that receives your conversations, and the app has no third-party analytics, ads, or tracking. The only data that reaches a third party is what’s needed to deliver push notifications, and only if you enable them. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How do I restore a purchase?

Purchases are handled by the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). To bring back a previous purchase on a new device or after reinstalling, open the app’s settings and choose Restore Purchases — the store re-applies anything tied to your account. If it doesn’t restore, email support@vexillon.ai with your store receipt and we’ll sort it out. Refunds are handled through Apple or Google per their policies.

The hands-free wake word isn’t working

Wake-word listening (“Hey MIRA”) is opt-in and processed entirely on your device. If it’s not responding, check that: (1) you’ve granted the microphone permission in your device’s system settings; (2) wake-word listening is turned on in the app; and (3) the hands-free screen or its listening mode is active. Toggling the microphone permission off and on again often clears it. If it still won’t work, email us with your device model.

Notifications aren’t arriving

Make sure notifications are enabled for MIRA in your device’s system settings, and that your device is registered under My Preferences → Notifications & devices on your server. Push is optional and off until you turn it on; see the device & notifications guide.
