Delete your
data.
How to delete your data from the MIRA apps by Vexillon. Because MIRA is a client for a server you run yourself, most of your data lives on your own server — here's exactly where each kind lives and how to remove it.
The short version
These instructions apply to the MIRA apps (iOS, iPadOS, and Android) published by Tarek El Diab (trading as Vexillon), Australia. MIRA is a client for a MIRA server you run yourself.
- On your device: sign out or uninstall the app to remove all local data.
- On your server: your conversations, memories, and settings live on your server — delete them there. The publisher does not hold this data.
- Hosted demo: nothing to do — guest sessions are wiped automatically.
How to delete your data
- Local data on your device
In the app, sign out to clear your session and cached chats, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data (session, cached chats, and settings) from that device.
- Your data on your own server
MIRA is a client for a MIRA server you run yourself. Your conversations, memories, wiki notes, and settings live on your server — not with the developer. Delete them in your server’s own web interface (account or data-management settings), or by removing the server’s data directory or decommissioning the server entirely. Because this data is on your server, the publisher does not hold it and cannot delete it for you.
- Hosted demo (“Try the demo”)
If you used the optional hosted demo, there’s nothing to do: guest sessions are ephemeral and are automatically wiped shortly after the session ends. The demo requires no account.
- Push notifications
If you enabled push, turning off notifications in the app removes the push registration (the delivery token) associated with your device.
What is deleted, what is kept, and retention
- Local app data — signing out or uninstalling removes all local app data (session, cached chats, settings) from your device immediately.
- Server data — held on your server and deleted by you there; the publisher retains no personal user data for normal (self-hosted) use of the apps.
- Hosted-demo data — guest-session content is automatically deleted at the end of the short session, well within any retention window, and is never tied to an account.
- Push registration — removed when you turn off notifications or uninstall the app.
In short: the publisher does not retain your personal data. Local data is removed on your device by signing out or uninstalling, server data is under your control on your own server, and hosted-demo data is wiped automatically.
